Aden: Two Houthi missiles targeted Aden International Airport in southern Yemen early Wednesday as fighting intensified across the country. No casualties were reported.
Yemen’s Transport Ministry said one missile landed near the runway shortly before a flight from Cairo was due to arrive. The flight was diverted to Jeddah, and two aircraft on the ground were moved away from the area.
The attack came as Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces launched a counteroffensive against the Houthis near the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait.
The Saudi-led coalition also said it intercepted missiles launched towards Saudi Arabia. The renewed fighting has raised tensions across the region.
