KULHUDHUFFUSHI : The Kulhudhuffushi City Council has officially launched a community-based mental health center named “Manas Hub” to provide preventive care, psychoeducation, and social support.

Kulhudhuffushi Mayor Mohamed Athif and Australian High Commissioner David Jessup officially inaugurated the facility during a special ceremony timed to mark World Mental Health Day. Former First Lady Fazna Ahmed also attended the event.

Developed under the council’s strategic plan at its Knowledge Center, the facility operates under the city council’s Knowledge, Culture, and Wellbeing Unit. The hub focuses on preventive support and early intervention in an open community setting rather than a traditional clinical environment.

In addition to mental health awareness sessions, stress management, and career guidance, the center offers recreational space and board games to strengthen social connections. The council highlighted that the initiative connects mental wellbeing with learning and community engagement under one roof.
