MALE : The Maldives Police Service has officially launched specialized “SmartDraw” software to speed up road accident investigations and improve the technical quality of case reports.

The software was introduced under the Traffic Investigation Function of the Traffic Police and Road Management Unit.

According to police authorities, the application allows officers to quickly sketch accurate diagrams of accident scenes using pre-designed road layouts, including four-way intersections, T-junctions, and straight roads.

The system also features ready-made symbols for various vehicle types, traffic signs, and streetlights.

Officers can integrate Google Maps and satellite imagery into the platform to construct precise visual diagrams of incident sites. Police highlighted that adopting modern digital tools will strengthen technical evidence collection and modernize traffic investigations nationwide.
