Israeli strikes killed at least five Palestinians in two separate attacks in Gaza on Saturday, according to health officials, as tensions continue despite a ceasefire.
Gaza: At least five Palestinians were killed in two Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, October 10, according to Palestinian health officials.
Four people were killed in a strike near Panda Mall in Gaza City, while another person was killed in the Tuffah neighbourhood, medics said.
The Israeli military said the two strikes targeted militants but did not provide further details.
Israel has increased its attacks on Hamas in recent weeks, accusing the Palestinian group of rebuilding its weapons stockpile and carrying out attacks in violation of the ceasefire.
Hamas has denied the allegations and accused Israel of undermining the truce.
The US-brokered ceasefire, agreed in October 2025, was intended to pave the way for reconstruction in Gaza and an end to the conflict.
However, progress on the wider agreement has been limited, with disagreements over Hamas’ disarmament and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territory.
Gaza health officials say at least 1,400 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire since the ceasefire began. Israel has reported that four of its soldiers have been killed in attacks by militants during the same period.
