Nairobi: Kenya has confirmed its first Ebola case after a Kenyan man who returned from the Democratic Republic of Congo died in Nairobi.
The man had lived in the DRC for seven years. He became sick about a month ago and received treatment there.
He travelled by road to Uganda before flying to Nairobi on October 3. He was taken to a hospital and placed in isolation after arriving.
Health officials have identified 28 people who had contact with the man. They include family members and healthcare workers.
Authorities are also tracing 23 passengers and four crew members from his flight.
The patient tested positive for the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola and died on Monday.
