Gaza: At least five Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike on an apartment building in Gaza City early Saturday, according to Palestinian health and civil defence officials.
The strike hit an apartment building in the Remal area of western Gaza City, according to Al-Shifa Hospital. At least six others were seriously wounded.
Palestinian civil defence teams searched the damaged building for people trapped under the rubble.
Reuters reported that there was no immediate comment from the Israeli military on the strike.
The strike comes amid continued Israeli attacks in Gaza despite a US-brokered ceasefire.
Israel says Hamas has been rearming and carrying out attacks in violation of the ceasefire. Hamas denies the allegations and has accused Israel of undermining the agreement.
Gaza health officials say at least 1,400 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire since the ceasefire began last October. Israel says four of its soldiers have been killed by militants in Gaza during the same period.
