Saudi Prince Mansour meets President Muizzu during Maldives Independence Day visit

His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Mansour bin Mutaib bin Abdulaziz Al Saud met President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu today after arriving in the Maldives as the Guest of Honour for the country's 61st Independence Day celebrations. The two leaders discussed strengthening Maldives–Saudi Arabia relations and expanding cooperation across key sectors.

His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Mansour bin Mutaib bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Minister of State, and Cabinet Member of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, met President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu today after arriving in the Maldives as the Guest of Honour for the country's 61st Independence Day celebrations.

Prince Mansour is representing His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at the invitation of President Muizzu.

Following a ceremonial welcome upon his arrival in Malé, Prince Mansour paid a courtesy call on President Muizzu at the President's Office.

During the meeting, President Muizzu welcomed the Saudi royal and expressed gratitude to the Saudi leadership for accepting the invitation to participate in the Maldives' Independence Day celebrations. He also thanked the Kingdom for its continued support to the Maldives, particularly through the Makkah Route Initiative, which has significantly facilitated travel for Maldivian pilgrims performing Hajj.

Prince Mansour reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's commitment to supporting the Maldives' development and prosperity, emphasizing the longstanding brotherly ties between the two countries. He also conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the Saudi leadership.

The two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in areas including trade, investment, and other

sectors of mutual interest. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to further enhancing the close partnership between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia, founded on shared Islamic values, mutual respect, and longstanding friendship.

Prince Mansour will attend the Maldives' 61st Independence Day celebrations tomorrow as the Guest of Honour, representing the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Khalilur Rahman, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, will also attend the official celebrations as an invited guest.
