MALÉ: The Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development has extended the deadline to submit nominations for the inaugural “Engineers Award.”
The application window, which was initially scheduled to close earlier this month, has now been extended until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
The Ministry established the awards to honor and recognize the valuable contributions of Maldivian engineers and key stakeholders in driving national infrastructure and technical progress.
This year’s honors will be presented across 10 distinct categories:
Engineer of the Year
Lifetime Achievement Award
Young Engineer Award
Women in Engineering Award
Engineering Innovation, Technology, Education and Research Award
Sustainability Champion Award
Engineering Consultant / Consultancy Firm of the Year Award
Student Innovator Award
Community Impact Award
Contractor of the Year Award
According to the Ministry, nominations are open to individuals, firms, and organizations that fulfill the eligibility criteria published in the official Government Gazette under the “Engineers Award Regulation”.
Interested applicants can access online application forms, document requirements, and declaration forms through the Ministry’s dedicated portal at awards.infrastructure.gov.mv.
