The United Arab Emirates has suspended trade and financial dealings with Iran after accusing Tehran of launching ballistic missiles toward shipping in the Gulf.

The United Arab Emirates on Tuesday suspended all trade, commercial exchanges and financial transactions with Iran, citing escalating regional tensions and accusing Tehran of launching two ballistic missiles toward shipping in the Gulf.
The UAE Foreign Ministry said the measures would remain in place until further notice. The announcement came shortly after residents received a brief warning of a potential missile threat and were urged to seek shelter.
The UAE said its air defences detected two ballistic missiles launched from Iran, with both falling into the sea. It said the missiles were targeting maritime navigation.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei rejected the UAE’s allegation, saying Tehran had not launched a missile toward the country and warning that such claims could harm regional security efforts.
The UAE has reported repeated attacks on tankers belonging to state-owned oil company ADNOC in recent weeks.
Iran has also warned that the Strait of Hormuz, a major route for oil shipments from Gulf states, will remain closed until it reaches a peace agreement with the United States.
