STELCO suspends HR employee over alleged pressure to join PNC

STELCO has suspended an HR employee following remarks that employees were being pressured to join the ruling People’s National Congress.

Male’: State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has suspended an HR employee after remarks made during a live “Raajje TV” program about employees being pressured to join the People’s National Congress (PNC).

The issue arose during the Fashaairu program” after presenter Amir Saleem called Stelco’s HR department.

During the call, the employee reportedly said employees had to sign forms to join the PNC and submit them through the company’s HR department.

Stelco later said the employee had been suspended while the company investigates the matter.

The company said it would take necessary administrative and corrective action under its regulations.

Stelco also said its main focus remains providing reliable essential services to the public.
