State-owned pharmaceutical company State Pharma has started working with global pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca to improve access to essential medicines in the Maldives.
The two sides recently held discussions on strengthening the supply of medicines, enhancing healthcare services and building a long-term partnership. They also explored priority areas to support the further development of the Maldivian healthcare sector.
State Pharma said the initiative is part of its efforts to ensure the continuous availability of high-quality medicines by working closely with leading international pharmaceutical manufacturers.
The company also noted that plans are underway to establish medicine warehouses in three regions of the country to improve distribution and availability.
