President calls for stronger road and building safety measures

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has called for stronger safety measures on roads and high rise buildings following two recent accidents involving children.

Male’: President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has urged authorities and the public to strengthen safety measures on roads and high rise buildings following the recent deaths and injuries of two children.

The President made the appeal in a post on “X”, expressing condolences to the families affected by the incidents.

Building Safety

The President stressed the importance of securing windows, balconies, railings and other potentially dangerous areas in high rise buildings, particularly where young children or vulnerable people live.

He also called on families and building management bodies to take greater responsibility for preventing such accidents.

President Muizzu urged the government, businesses, civil society groups and the public to work together to improve road and building safety and increase public awareness.
