Police have suspended the driving licence of Hawks CEO Hassan Rifau after a Lamborghini he was driving crashed into solar panels on the Bridge Highway.

Police have suspended the driving licence of Hawks CEO Hassan Rifau after the Lamborghini he was driving lost control and crashed into solar panels on the Bridge Highway, with a 13-year-old child also inside the vehicle.
Police said they received a report of the accident at 8:42 a.m. on Friday.
The vehicle reportedly crashed into a solar panel structure along the highway and overturned. Rifau and the child were inside the vehicle at the time of the accident.
Police identified the occupants as Hassan Rifau, of B. Kamadhoo, and a 13-year-old child.
Both were treated at Tree Top Hospital and have since been discharged, according to police.
The Lamborghini sustained extensive damage in the crash and was described by police as severely damaged and unusable.
Police said vehicle parts were handed over to the relevant party after information required for the investigation was collected.
Police confirmed that Rifau’s driving licence has been suspended in connection with the accident.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Hawks is one of the Maldives’ largest companies operating in the fuel business.
