President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended Independence Day greetings to Pakistan, reaffirming the Maldives’ close friendship and cooperation with the country.
In a message shared on social media, Muizzu conveyed his “warmest felicitations and best wishes” to Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the people of Pakistan.
The President said the Maldives deeply values the longstanding bonds of friendship and close cooperation between the two countries.
He expressed hope that the ties between the Maldives and Pakistan would continue to strengthen and contribute to greater prosperity and wellbeing for both nations.
Pakistan celebrates its 79th Independence Day on August 14, marking the country’s independence from British rule in 1947.
