MMA seeks contractor to develop new Hulhumale’ office

The Maldives Monetary Authority is seeking a contractor to develop a new 8,064 square meter office building in Hulhumale’ under a contractor financing arrangement.

The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has opened a bid to find a contractor to develop its new office building in Hulhumale’. The project will be carried out under a contractor financing arrangement.

The central bank said the new building is planned to provide additional space for its operations. It will also include facilities needed to securely handle and manage cash brought in by banks.

New building to include specialized facilities

The planned development will cover 8,064 square meters. It will include office and administrative areas, specialized facilities for cash handling, training facilities and a conference hall. Dedicated office units for financial authorities will also be included.

Under the proposed financing model, the contractor will be required to arrange financing for 85 to 90 percent of the project cost. MMA will arrange the remaining funding needed for the development.

MMA has invited interested parties to submit an Expression of Interest by the 11th of next month. The authority said further details and requirements are included in the invitation for interested contractors.
