MALÉ: The Ministry of Health, Family and Welfare has extended the deadline to apply for the Riveli Awards 2026, a national initiative dedicated to encouraging persons with disabilities and recognizing individuals and organizations working for their welfare.

According to an official announcement by the ministry, the original submission period has been extended to give more applicants the opportunity to participate. Interested individuals, groups, and service providers now have until 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 17, 2026, to submit their applications.

The Riveli Awards serve as a major national platform designed to celebrate the talents and achievements of persons with disabilities while raising public awareness of their rights and promoting their active inclusion across society.

Key details regarding the deadline extension and award categories include:

  • New Application Deadline: Submissions will remain open until 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 17, 2026.

  • Primary Objective: Created to encourage persons with disabilities, honor their accomplishments, and recognize contributions made toward their welfare and social inclusion.

  • Six Award Categories: Includes awards for persons with disabilities, individuals bringing national pride, educational providers, non-profit organizations, technical/personal support providers, and businesses aiding economic empowerment.

  • Submission Channels: Application forms can be submitted directly to the ministry counter at the Umar Zahir Office Building or sent via email to disability@health.gov.mv.
