MDP activist Maimoon has been released after five days in detention, with the Criminal Court imposing conditions for the next 30 days.

Male’: MDP activist Ahmed Maimoon Mohamed has been released from detention under conditions after being arrested following an MDP protest held on August 28.
Police arrested Maimoon on allegations that he obstructed barricades placed to restrict access during the protest and entered an area closed to the public.
The Criminal Court initially ordered him to remain in detention for five days. After the detention period ended, he was released yesterday under conditions for 30 days.
As part of the conditions, Maimoon must cooperate with the investigation, inform police before travelling outside Male’, and report any changes to his address or phone number. The court warned that he could be detained again if he breaches the conditions.
Maimoon works at the Male’ City Council and is also the vice president of the MDP’s Hiyyvaru Youth Wing.
