The Maldivian Government has called for the immediate implementation of a roadmap aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza.

In a statement issued Monday, the Government said Israel’s rejection of the roadmap could delay diplomatic efforts to end the conflict.

The roadmap outlines steps to implement US President Donald Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, endorsed by the UN Security Council through Resolution 2803.

The Maldives welcomed the Palestinian side’s acceptance of the roadmap and recognised diplomatic efforts by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt and Türkiye to advance the process.

The Government said implementing the plan would help address Gaza’s humanitarian crisis, support reconstruction and restore stability.

The Maldives also reaffirmed its support for an independent Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
