President Emmanuel Macron has pledged full government support as France battles record wildfires, with firefighters continuing efforts to contain the blazes.

PARIS, France: French President Emmanuel Macron has pledged full government support as firefighters continue battling some of the country's worst wildfires in recent history.
Macron thanked firefighters, emergency workers, soldiers and volunteers for their efforts and said the government would continue providing all the resources needed to fight the fires and help affected communities.
The President warned that the coming weeks could remain difficult as another heatwave is expected to increase the risk of more wildfires. France has also requested assistance through
the European Union, with several countries sending firefighting aircraft and crews to support the response.
Large wildfires have forced hundreds of thousands of people to evacuate across France and Spain, while thousands of firefighters continue working to contain the blazes.
