MALÉ, Maldives: Haris Mohamed has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC).
The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) announced his appointment as a member of the MTDC Board of Directors on Tuesday, following a vacancy created after the removal of former Managing Director Ahmed Niyaz.
The PCB has not provided details regarding the reason behind Niyaz’s dismissal.
Haris brings more than three decades of experience in areas including tourism, aviation, marketing, public relations and business management.
He previously served as the Acting Managing Director of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) and as the General Manager of the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).
Haris holds a Master of Business Administration from the Australian Institute of Business and is a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Chartered Management Institute.
