Government plans new laboratory for engineering research

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced plans to establish a new facility with a modern laboratory to support engineering research and development in the Maldives.

Male: President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced plans to build a new facility to support research in various fields of engineering.

The President made the announcement in a message marking Engineers’ Day in the Maldives.

He said the facility will include a state of the art laboratory to support engineering research and development.

President Muizzu said the facility will be built and operated through sustainable arrangements. He also noted that the project will proceed even if it is not included in the state budget.

The President extended his greetings to Maldivian engineers and thanked those who have contributed to the country’s development through their work.

He also wished success to young people studying engineering and those pursuing an interest in the field.

President Muizzu said engineers play an important role in the continued development of the Maldives.
