G.DH THINADHOO – MALDIVES: Former Presidents Mohamed Nasheed and Abdulla Yameen are scheduled to attend celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of the second settlement of G.Dh.Thinadhoo and the development of the island as a city.
The main gathering is planned for the night of August 22, with both former presidents expected to speak at the event.
According to the schedule, Yameen and Nasheed will travel to hinadhoo on August 21 ahead of the anniversary programme.
Preparations for the 60th anniversary celebrations are currently underway in Thinadhoo, according to the city council.
The anniversary marks six decades since the island’s second settlement and highlights the development of Thinadhoo over the years.
