Anoof, wanted in fake slip case, convicted on two counts of theft

Anoof Abdul Ghanee (Saathi, Lh. Naifaru), who was being sought by the police for fraudulent transactions using fake bank slips, has been found guilty of two counts of theft and sentenced to prison by the Criminal Court.

Anoof Abdul Ghanee (Saathi, Lh. Naifaru), who was being sought by the police for fraudulent transactions using fake bank slips, has been found guilty of two counts of theft and sentenced to prison by the Criminal Court.

Anoof was convicted of stealing a motorcycle and a mobile phone that was inside the motorcycle's storage compartment. During the court proceedings, he confessed to the charges. Following his confession, the case was conducted under fast-track legal procedures.

According to the verdict delivered by the Criminal Court, Anoof was sentenced to 9 months and 18 days in prison for the theft of the motorcycle. Additionally, he was sentenced to 4 months and 24 days for the theft of the phone from the motorcycle's compartment.

As Anoof confessed to the crimes, his sentence was reduced in accordance

with the law. The court's ruling also stated that the period he spent in custody in connection with this case will be deducted from his total sentence.

Anoof has previously come to the attention of the police for various cases of fraud and deception. Specifically, the police had previously issued public notices seeking him in connection with cases involving transactions made using fake transfer slips.
