The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has dismissed Ahmed Niyaz from his positions as Managing Director and Board Member of the Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) effective July 23, 2026.

The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has officially removed Ahmed Niyaz (Hasankaarige, S. Meedhoo) from his position as Managing Director and member of the Board of Directors at the Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC).
The termination came into effect on Thursday, July 23, 2026, according to a public notice issued by the state regulatory body on social media. The PCB did not disclose the specific reasons behind his sudden dismissal.
Ahmed Niyaz had been serving at MTDC since November 5, 2007, building a career spanning nearly two decades within the state-owned tourism firm before his removal.
