Male’: The repaired sections of Ameenee Magu have been reopened for public use, the Ministry of Construction and Urban Development said.

Work moves to next section

Repairs have been completed on two sections of the road. The first runs from the Maldives National University area to Dharubaaruge, while the second covers the area in front of MNU.

Work on the third section will begin tonight. It stretches from Ihsanu Zaddeen Magu to Koarukendi.

Police will change the traffic flow in the area from midnight and have asked vehicle owners to remove parked vehicles.

MTCC said the third section will involve removing the existing road surface and laying new aggregate base course and asphalt over about 1,925 square metres.

The fourth section, from Koarukendi to Ghiyasuddin International School, will also undergo similar repairs.

The project aims to improve damaged parts of Ameenee Magu, which is heavily used by buses and other vehicles. Work is also underway on other road development projects in Male’.
