Male’: The Maldivian government has condemned a drone attack targeting Saudi Arabia’s East-West oil pipeline in the Riyadh and Madinah areas.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attack caused injuries to civilians and damage to the oil pipeline.
The ministry strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a threat to Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The government also said attacks targeting important infrastructure pose a danger to regional peace, security and stability.
Following the attack, the affected sections of the East-West oil pipeline have been shut down.
The Maldivian government expressed solidarity with the Saudi government and people following the incident.
It also reaffirmed its support for Saudi Arabia’s security, safety, independence and territorial integrity.
