Strong winds, heavy rain and large hail caused flooding and widespread power outages across Toronto and parts of southern Ontario.

Toronto, Canada: A severe thunderstorm swept through Toronto on yesterday, bringing torrential rain, strong winds and large hail that caused flooding, fallen trees and widespread power outages.
Environment Canada had warned of damaging wind gusts exceeding 110 kilometres per hour, heavy rainfall of up to 50 millimetres and a possible tornado as the storm moved across the region.
The storm caused flooding on several roads, including the Don Valley Parkway, while trees and power lines were brought down in parts of the city.
Toronto Hydro reported that nearly 65,000 customers were without power following the storm, with outages caused largely by fallen trees and damaged power lines.
The severe weather also disrupted operations at Toronto Pearson International Airport, with flights cancelled as heavy rain and thunderstorms affected the area.
Authorities urged residents to take shelter during severe thunderstorms and avoid flooded roads and areas exposed to falling debris.
