Male’, Maldives: State Trading Organization (STO) has assured that chicken eggs remain available in the Maldivian market, dismissing reports that supplies had run out.
STO said eggs are currently being sold without restrictions and that additional shipments are being arranged to ensure continued supply.
The clarification follows reports circulated by some local media outlets claiming that eggs had become unavailable in the market.
Chicken eggs are among 23 essential food items designated by the government to ensure uninterrupted availability in the Maldives.
STO is responsible for maintaining supplies of the designated essential items, with the relevant government ministries working to prevent disruptions in the supply chain.
The company said it will continue efforts to ensure essential food products remain available to consumers.
