Interested candidates and organizations can submit their applications across six award categories until August 30, 2026.

The Ministry of Health, Family and Welfare has opened nominations for the Riveli Awards 2026 to celebrate persons with disabilities and honor organizations advocating for their inclusion.
Nominations are officially open for the prestigious Riveli Awards 2026, aimed at encouraging, recognizing, and empowering individuals with disabilities and those providing services for their welfare.
According to the Ministry, the initiative aligns with national policies to foster a compassionate society, protect civil rights, and enhance social and economic opportunities for persons with disabilities.
The 2026 Riveli Awards will recognize contributions across six primary categories:
Persons with Disabilities: Individual achievements and contributions.
National Pride: Persons with disabilities who bring honor and success to the Maldives.
Education Sector: Public and private institutions providing inclusive education.
Non-Governmental Organizations: Civil society groups delivering welfare services.
Professional and Individual Support: Outstanding technical or personal assistance.
Economic Empowerment: Companies providing employment and financial support.
Application Deadline: Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 13:00.
Form Collection Points: Health Ministry counters, regional Family and Children Service Centers (FCSCs), and the ministry’s official website.
Submission Methods: Physical submission at Ministry counters or email submission to disability@health.gov.mv.
First introduced in 2016 as a joint effort between the President’s Office and the line ministry, the national ceremony was previously held in the following years, 2019 and 2021.
The Ministry noted that successful applicants will be reviewed following the August 30 deadline, with the official award ceremony details to be announced later this year.
