KYIV, Ukraine: Russia has launched fresh missile and drone attacks on Ukraine, targeting Kyiv and several other regions as the war between the two countries continues.
Ukraine’s military said Russia launched ballistic missiles and dozens of drones overnight. In Kyiv, explosions caused fires and damaged buildings, while attacks in other areas resulted in civilian casualties.
Ukrainian officials reported Russian strikes in cities including Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia. Russia, meanwhile, said Ukrainian drone attacks targeted areas under its control, including the Russian-held city of Horlivka.
Russia claimed its forces intercepted more than 100 Ukrainian drones during the latest attacks, while Ukraine said
its own long-range strikes have targeted Russian military and energy facilities.
The latest attacks come as discussions continue over possible steps toward reducing the conflict. Reports said Ukraine and the United States have discussed a possible air ceasefire proposal, though Russia said it was too early to comment.
