President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has assured that the Alifushi Hospital and Alifushi Airport projects will be completed within the current presidential term.
The President made the remarks while responding to a question from a journalist during one of his regular press briefings, following reports that construction of the Alifushi Hospital had stalled.
Addressing the concerns, President Muizzu said both infrastructure projects remain a priority and pledged that they would be completed before the end of his administration.
A new 30-bed hospital is being developed in Alifushi
at an estimated cost of USD 8.2 million.
The project was awarded to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) under a contract with a completion period of two years. The government has not announced a revised completion date.
