The new maldivian doctors joined IGMH and Dharumavantha Hospital --

The Male’ City Group of Hospitals (MCGH) has significantly expanded its clinical capacity this year, integrating 16 newly trained Maldivian specialists and sub-specialists into its tertiary healthcare facilities in the capital.

The announcement was made today by MCGH Chief Executive Officer Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem, who highlighted ongoing state efforts to boost local medical expertise and enhance specialized healthcare services.

According to CEO Haleem, all 16 local practitioners completed their respective training programs earlier this year and have officially joined active service at Dharumavantha Hospital and Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). Notably, the cohort includes four medical practitioners who mark historic "firsts" for the Maldives in their specialized fields, helping reduce reliance on foreign expertise for complex medical care.
