MALÉ: Two large vessels anchored near Dhoonidhoo dragged their anchors during heavy winds and rough sea conditions, drifting under the Sinamalé Bridge and into the northern harbor of Malé near Citron Restaurant.
The incident was officially reported to the Maldives Police Service and the MNDF Coast Guard at around 10:00 PM.
According to reports, as the vessels passed beneath the bridge deck, the antenna of one vessel struck the underside of the structure and snapped off. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the bridge sustained any structural damage.
MNDF Coast Guard personnel are currently operating at the scene, and official details regarding potential damages or casualties remain pending.
