The United States is reviewing a proposal from Iran aimed at ending the ongoing conflict and reopening the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

According to reports, the proposal was conveyed through mediators and focuses first on de-escalation and reopening the vital oil shipping route, with nuclear negotiations postponed to a later stage.

US President Donald Trump and his national security team are currently assessing the plan, which comes amid ongoing tensions and disrupted global energy supplies.

Iran has indicated it is willing to reopen the Strait of Hormuz through which about a fifth of global oil passes in exchange for an

end to hostilities and the lifting of US restrictions.

However, Washington has insisted that any agreement must also address Tehran’s nuclear ambitions, a key sticking point in negotiations.

The proposal marks a potential diplomatic opening after weeks of stalled talks, though officials caution that significant differences remain before any agreement can be reached.
