India and Switzerland have agreed to expand cooperation in defence and nuclear energy during Swiss President Guy Parmelin’s visit to New Delhi.

New Delhi: India and Switzerland have agreed to strengthen cooperation in defence and nuclear energy following talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Swiss President Guy Parmelin.
The two leaders met in New Delhi on Monday. They also discussed trade, technology, infrastructure and research.
India and Switzerland will explore more cooperation between their defence industries. Military training and exchanges are also expected to increase.
The countries signed five agreements covering migration, young professionals, transport, research and technology.
A new mobility agreement will allow multiple-entry visas for up to five years for eligible people. The young professionals programme will initially allow 300 people from each country to participate each year.
The talks also focused on increasing trade and investment. The leaders discussed the India-EFTA trade agreement, which includes a target of $100 billion in investment in India over 15 years.
