Apple has introduced the iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone, featuring a 7.6 inch inner display, a slim design and new features for multitasking.

California: Apple has unveiled the iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone, marking the company’s entry into the growing foldable smartphone market. The device opens like a book to reveal a 7.6 inch inner display.
Apple says the Duo is its thinnest iPhone when opened. It has a 5.4 inch outer display when folded and uses a custom hinge designed to provide a smooth folding experience. The phone also has a titanium frame and IP68 dust and water resistance.
The large inner screen is designed for watching content, gaming and multitasking. The display also uses a nano texture finish to reduce glare. Apple has added software features that allow users to work with multiple apps and adjust content to the larger screen.
The iPhone Duo is powered by Apple’s A20 Pro chip and comes with two 48 megapixel rear cameras. It also supports Apple Pencil and uses Touch ID in the side button instead of Face ID.
The phone starts at $1,999 for the 256GB model. Storage options go up to 2TB. Preorders will begin on October 16, with sales starting October 23.
The launch marks a major change in Apple’s iPhone design after years of foldable phones from competitors including Samsung and Huawei. Apple is entering the market later than its main rivals but is positioning the Duo as a premium device focused on productivity and entertainment.
