The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has reported an incident involving a tanker and military forces in the Gulf of Oman, advising ships in the area to exercise heightened caution.
In a maritime security advisory, the UKMTO said it had received a report of the incident and urged vessels transiting the region to review the latest security guidance and remain alert due to what it described as an "evolving operational environment."
The agency said authorities are investigating the situation but did not disclose further details about the tanker, including its flag, ownership, or the military forces reportedly
involved.
No information has yet been released regarding injuries, damage, or any disruption to shipping in the strategically important waterway.
The Gulf of Oman is a critical route connecting the Arabian Sea with the Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant share of the world's oil and gas exports passes.
