Mohamed Afeef Hussain --

MALE : The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has removed Mohamed Afeef Hussain from his post as Managing Director as the government accelerates efforts to dissolve Fenaka Corporation.

Afeef, who was appointed to lead the state utility company in April, served for just five months before his removal from the top executive post and the board of directors.

He is the third Managing Director to be dismissed from Fenaka under the current administration, following earlier terms served by Muaz Mohamed Rasheed and Mohamed Najah. Muaz has since been appointed as Deputy Managing Director of MWSC.

The leadership dismissal coincides with major state-level restructuring. President Dr Mohamed Muizzu announced last month that Fenaka Corporation will be dissolved and its island electricity supply operations transferred under Stelco, while water and sanitation services in several densely populated islands are already being integrated into the Male Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC).
