MUMBAI, India — Gunmen opened fire at a vehicle carrying Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening, injuring his driver and another person, according to police. The actor escaped serious injury, with reports indicating he suffered minor abrasions from shattered glass.
The incident occurred at around 7 p.m. on Sunday near Pushpa Park in Juhu, as Shroff was leaving after attending a gathering. The attackers reportedly arrived on a motorcycle and fled after firing at the actor’s vehicle.
Shroff’s driver sustained a gunshot wound to his hand, while another person nearby was also injured. Both were taken for medical treatment, according to reports.
Mumbai Police arrested three suspects in Kota, Rajasthan, on Monday in connection with the shooting. The suspects were reportedly travelling by train and attempting to flee towards Nepal when they were apprehended by a joint police team. Two are from Haryana and the third is from Maharashtra.
A social media post and an audio message attributed to individuals claiming links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the attack. However, police have not independently verified the authenticity of the claims or confirmed the gang’s involvement.
Mumbai Police have registered a case against three unidentified shooters under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act. Investigators are examining CCTV footage and other evidence to establish the motive and the circumstances surrounding the attack.
