The Maldives Meteorological Service has warned of heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds in several parts of the country as unsettled weather continues.

Male’: Several parts of the Maldives are expected to experience heavy rain and thunderstorms today, with strong winds also forecast during thunderstorms, according to the Maldives Meteorological Service.
A white alert has been issued from Baa Atoll to Laamu Atoll until 2:00pm. Winds of 19 to 24 miles per hour are expected, while gusts could reach 40 miles per hour during thunderstorms.
The Meteorological Service also issued a nationwide white alert until 9:30am today, warning of heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds.
The current bad weather began on Thursday and is expected to continue in different parts of the country until Wednesday.
The recent weather has already caused flooding and damage in some areas. More than 70 houses in Feydhoo, Addu City, were affected by flooding.
The Meteorological Service has urged the public to remain cautious and take necessary safety measures as the bad weather continues. Authorities have also been advised to take precautions against possible damage caused by flooding.
