MALE’, Maldives: The National College of Policing and Law Enforcement (NCPLE) Annual Policing Conference 2026 opened today, bringing together police officials to discuss priorities and develop an action plan for the Maldives Police Service in 2027.

The conference, held from November 8 to 10 in Iskandharu Koshi, is jointly organised by NCPLE and the Maldives Police Service’s Strategic Planning and Legal Services (SPLS).

The event is being held under the leadership of Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan and Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed.

Turning Research into Action

The main objective of the conference is to translate findings from research and practical experience into actionable measures to strengthen policing services.

Participants will discuss the demand for police services across different regions of the Maldives, alongside emerging security challenges facing the country.

The discussions will also consider research findings to identify priority areas for the Maldives Police Service’s 2027 action plan.

The conference aims to establish clear targets and responsibilities, helping shape the service’s priorities and operational direction for the coming year.
