Malé: Fresh drone footage captured by R24 reveals the Thilamalé Bridge rapidly taking shape, with major sections of the bridge now connected as construction enters one of its most advanced phases.
The latest aerial images show significant progress in the installation of bridge deck segments, with long continuous stretches now visible across the project corridor. Construction is progressing simultaneously at multiple locations, where crews continue deck installation, marine works, approach road construction and other key infrastructure works.
Compared with previous drone surveys, the pace of construction has accelerated noticeably. The bridge’s final alignment is now clearly defined, offering one of the strongest visual indications yet that the landmark project is moving steadily toward completion.
More than just a transport project, the Thilamalé Bridge is expected to become a new gateway for the Maldivian economy. Once operational, it will provide direct road connectivity between Malé, Villimalé, Gulhifalhu and Thilafushi, linking the country’s administrative capital with its expanding residential, industrial and commercial zones.
