Male’: Maldives Expo 2026 is set to become the largest exhibition in the country’s history, with 780 exhibitors expected to showcase around 4,800 products, Economic Development, Trade and Tourism Minister Mohamed Saeed has said.
Organised by the Business Centre Corporation (BCC) and the ministry, the exhibition will run from October 25 to November 2.
The number of exhibitors has increased by 225 per cent compared with last year, while the number of products on display has doubled from 2,400 to 4,800, according to Saeed.
This year’s exhibition will be organised into seven districts, including two new sections: Visitor Economy and International.
Ten islands are expected to participate in the Visitor Economy section, highlighting local opportunities and businesses linked to the visitor economy.
The International District is expected to feature 15 Chinese businesses and 15 participants from India. Organisers are also working to attract businesses from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Saeed said last year’s expo attracted more than 80,000 visitors daily. Organisers aim to double visitor numbers at this year’s event.
The expo will provide a platform for businesses to showcase their products, promote local enterprises and explore opportunities to expand their markets.
